ABOUT THE ARTIST

Katie Martin is a New England based, studio artist, specializing in acrylic, wildlife, and landscape paintings. Originally from North Carolina, Katie received a Studio Art degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where the ocean played an integral role in the inspiration for her artwork. Since graduating, Katie has built her career on inspiration found while living in places like the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, rural Vermont, and most recently, Portland, Oregon. Each of these regions opening her eyes to beautiful new landscapes and wildlife that are reflected in her recent work.
In Spring of 2021, an exciting opportunity to move back home to the east coast came about, and Katie is excited to be settling into a new studio space, on the coast of Southern Maine! Currently working to rebuild her inventory, she continues to explore her surroundings as much as possible, and is currently expanding her collections to reflect the inspirations found since relocating back to the beautiful New England area. Katie finds that spending time in nature helps her create balance, while perpetuating the inspiration that is such an essential element to her studio work. When she’s not working in her studio, Katie enjoys surfing, snowboarding, and hiking with her German Shepherd, “Moose”.
